Between Soul & System

My conflicting experiences inside the justice system has inspired me to assemble these very scenes of justice into visual art about humanity and its survival inside an institutional landscape. This series is my way of recognizing, through portraiture, the human being’s evolution (and devolution) inside the powerful spaces of bureaucracy and its impact upon our souls. My goal is to bring credence to Michel Foucault’s assertion that the human being is directly involved in a political field where power marks our bodies, trains them, tortures them, forces them to carry out tasks, perform ceremonies, and to emit signs.
